Have you ever tried to use your camera to a group of candlelight lens? gleams of flame issuing warm soft lighting, mapping in my fair Lady's face, this picture is too pretty (you can imagine that it's romantic atmosphere).

But in such a dark environment taking pictures is challenging. This article describes a number of related shooting skills.

1. turn off the Flash

We start with the most obvious, then went on to talk about something else.

Light of the circumstances we often use Flash, but it completely destroyed the candlelight atmosphere, let us very disappointed. If you want a soft candle light effect, you must completely turn off the Flash. Of course there are exceptions — please see later in point 15.

2. use a tripod

Obviously, filming scenes of candle light means light.

So you must slow down the shutter speed, but this increases camera shake effect on photos. In order to guarantee the stability of the camera as far as possible, you can use a tripod, you can also consider using shutter remote control in order to avoid vibration caused by the shutter.

3. adequate candles

Candlelight photography's biggest challenge is the lack of environmental light.

Use more candles can significantly enhance the light, this allows you greater flexibility in setting the shutter speed, ISO speed and the aperture size.

4. candle candles placed a decentralized or put several candles put together, will face a sharp shadows.

This may be exactly what you want, but in most cases you want light evenly in the face.

As long as the candles are scattered points will be able to achieve this objective.

However, I was so proposed to place on one side than the other side more candles, so you can create wonderful side light effect — but not too uneven, unless you want to get a dramatic effects.

5. natural reflector

There are so few times I candlelight while shooting, there is a very useful surprises.

In the photo, I noticed: when shooting objects sat in a white tablecloth table, exposure effect is better than no White tablecloths. Apparently the white tablecloth enhances reflection of light on the face. Similarly, white walls, white ceiling can achieve this effect. 6. fast lens

If you are using a digital SLR camera and lens have more than one, select one of the most quickly so that you can use a larger aperture, so that more light into the camera.

I prefer my 50mm lens (f/1.8 or f/1.4). Then, I used the fastest possible aperture settings (or close), so it is possible to have a faster shutter speed, a lower speed. It is important to remember: the larger the aperture, the smaller the depth of field.
