TIFF support JPEG for 8-bit per channel RGB image of single layer, also supports per-channel 16-bit CMYk images of multiple layers. Therefore, TIFF usually used for print and the final format of the printed output.

Many digital cameras support TIFF output, but because the image processor limitations, its output TIFF images are typically only 8 bits per channel.

High-end scanner provides the users with per-channel 16-bit TIFF output options. In many respects, a digital camera of TIFF format output as RAW format output.
